braille e-book, phenomenal idea.

kindle, schmindle. i want to read a book in it’s natural state [the way god made books.] but the idea of carrying around tons of books on a small tablet does sound sexy. one huge problem for me: most of the books i’d like to schlep are reference books, heavy with color illustrations. i’m in the design world, and i’m almost certain the books i collect, read and reference aren’t “kindleable.”

book tablets for the blind? BRILLIANT!

books in braille are costly and thick. EAP technology dynamically changes a surface pattern by way of electromagnetic signal, which can simulate braille text. the book below was designed by seon-keun park, byung-min woo, sun-hye woo & jin-sun park.

as seen on yanko design.
